IT Expert for Life Science Research (permanent / contract)
We are looking for a highly knowledgeable, motivated and experienced professional with the urge to make a difference to join our ambitious, dedicated and expanding high-end consultancy group within the Life Science/pharmaceutical industry.
Successful candidates will strengthen our Life Science project teams and help to design and implement software solutions for our customers mainly in the Basel area. We offer the opportunity to gain deep insight into pharmaceutical research within global pharmaceutical companies and to optimize processes by introducing innovative software solutions.
Main Responsibilities Comprise
- You will analyze workflows and processes of pharmaceutical research laboratories and derive concepts for innovative software
- You will support scientists in the lab with your IT-Know How
- Support internal and commercial applications and integrate new instruments
- You will be part of a team developing new IT Systems support drug discovery processes
- You will act as the link between scientists and technical experts within the project teams
Essential Experiences and Skills
- University degree in natural sciences or several years of related industry experience in Life Science Research
- 2+ years hands-on experience with software engineering in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
- Ability to talk the technical language of IT-experts and knowledge of scientific terminology and processes within pharmaceutical research
- Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g. Oracle or others)
- Good Knowledge in one or several languages (e.g. Java, C#, PHP, HTML, XML etc.)
- Excellent communication skills
- Languages: English must, German: should (our company's language is German)
